There is no doubt about it, we LOVE our dog Kandy. Even though she is long overdue for a grooming session, that furball of spunk is our pride and joy. She started out as my family's pet, but because of circumstances that arose, we were forced to give her away. Isaac (being the dog lover he is) was living on his own at the time and accepted her with open arms. Now that she has us both under the same roof, she is one happy dog who often gets more treats than needed.
Dogs, like us humans, need to let loose every once in a while and what better way to do so than to let them run wild and free on the open grass. Since we live in an apartment, she doesn't have the luxury of being able to do so everyday so we have to scout for other options. Las Vegas isin't as dog-friendly in the park department as California per se, but there are a few parks scattered throughout town. You can imagine our excitement when we remembered there was one hidden right by Horseman's Park. So on a Saturday afternoon, we grabbed Kandy and our camera and headed over to Dog Fancier's Park.
Located on near Stephanie and Flamingo Rd. (behind Sam's Town), Dog Fancier's Park is a vast, spacious, patch of dog loving glory, equipped with fences, doggie bags, and water fountains for those super hot days. This was the first time Kandy had ever been to a real dog park, so the idea of being able to run wild and free with other pups definitely made her super happy.
I would totally recommend this park to anyone looking for a place to bring their pets for a fun day out. There are a few benches and picnic tables throughout the park and doggie bags available for those unexpected accidents. It can be a bit hidden at first, but once you find it, you'll be sure to come back!
